The studio: a sacred, set apart place!
Ich bin ja aktuell auf Wohnungssuche. Dabei hat mich besonders ein Teaching aus meinem Mentoringprogramm „Created to Thrive“ angesprochen. Matt Tommey, der Mentor, spricht ja immer wieder davon, wie wichtig es als Künstler ist regelmäßig Zeit im Studio zu verbringen und wirklich Kunst zu erstellen.
Until now I was of the opinion that I didn't necessarily need my own studio. Since my artist artist watercolor pencils and fineliners can be taken anywhere and at home the desk would suffice.
Nachdem Teaching „Developing and Nurturing Your Studio Practice“ (Entwicklung und Pflege der Studioangewohnheit) habe ich umgedacht. In diesem Vortrag haben wir gelernt, dass nichts einen Künstler schneller wachsen lässt als eine regelmäßige Zeit im Studio. Kunst braucht Platz, sowohl räumlich als auch zeitlich. Viele Künstler glauben, dass sie es nicht wert sind, sich ein eigenes Studio zu gönnen. Aber wir dürfen es auch so sehen, dass wir einen Ort verdienen, in denen Gott sich wunderbar in meinem Leben bewegen darf, durch die Kunst und Kreativität, die Er in mich gelegt hat.

Heute vor 50 Jahren starb einer der großartigsten Schriftsteller des letzten Jahrhunderts: J.R.R. Tolkien. Er ist vor allem für seine beiden Hauptwerke „Der Herr der Ringe“ und „Der Hobbit“ bekannt. Er hat eine komplette Welt mit eigener Geschichte, Mythologie, Völkern und Sprachen erfunden, die sehr komplex ist.
Viele seiner Schriftstücke wurden erst nach seinem Tod von seinem Sohn Christopher u.a. im „Silmarillion“ veröffentlicht. Zeit seines Lebens hat es der Autor nicht geschafft, eine einheitliche Geschichte zu veröffentlichen und so hat sein Sohn immer wieder versucht, die Bruchstücke und unterschiedlichen Versionen der Geschichten, die sich teilweise in Stil und Form unterscheiden, in Buchform zu veröffentlichen.
Was viele nicht wissen, dass J.R.R. Tolkien gläubiger Katholik war, was wenn man einen Blick dafür hat, auch in seinen Werken immer wieder zu sehen ist. Als christllicher Tolkienfan sitzt man hier oft zwischen den Stühlen. Auf der einen Seite die Christen, die ein okkultes Werk vermuten und davor warnen. Auf der anderen Seite die Tolkienfans, die die christliche Bezüge leugnen, weil sich Tolkien ja gegen Allegorien ausgesprochen hat.

I have put two new original paintings in the shop, which are now available for purchase at a special price. Both pictures were created during a worship time in the church service. I used my artist watercolor paintings (colored pencils) again. But this time I painted parts of the picture with water and a brush.
A beautiful effect was created from the contrast of the rough colored pencil image and the area painted with water.

I am currently trying new things in my art. Recently I already created a â–º diorama of the â–º deer jump (Hirschsprung) created from my home region. Now my next one is finished and can be bought in the shop.
Während meiner Zeit im CVJM München war ich über Ostern regelmäßig in Berchtesgarden. Eine wunderschöne Gegend. Ich habe vor eine Gruppe von 3 Dioramen aus dem Berchtesgardener Land zu erstellen. Das erste stellt das wunderschöne Dorf „Ramsau (Berchtesgardener Land)“ dar. Ein Motiv, das von vielen Kalendern und Gemälden bekannt ist.

For some time I have been part of a creative group CreateART+ in the German-speaking area that wants to network and encourage Christian artists. We meet monthly via Zoom to share testimonies and report on how we are doing.

Internally we hold workshops from time to time. So this week there was a workshop that was supposed to help us create creative art spontaneously. This workshop was very cool because it gave me new ideas. I suddenly felt like painting over the artist's watercolor pencils I used for the exercise. The result was a very cool effect that I would now like to use more often. Here my results:

Last week I used the Bavarian public holiday to visit my parents for over a week. I took the opportunity to work in the home office for 2 days. This week it was mostly very hot and bright weather.
I had brought my diorama from the deer jump (Hirschsprung) with me to photograph it at the location that served as a template for me.
The Höllental (valley of hell)is a deep V-shaped valley in the Franconian Forest. The valley, which is a nature reserve, is beautiful. The village of Hölle (hell) is at the entrance to the valley, at the end of which there used to be the zone border. The barbed wire fence, with the watchtowers and the self-firing systems. Luckily that's all history.
My twin sister and my father accompanied me. Already when we left, the sky was turning dark with mighty clouds: A thunderstorm was announced! Since the descent was quite steep and poorly developed, it was not without its dangers. So we had to hurry.

Encouraging prophetic act during challenging times

It's very challenging with my art right now. And so I was very happy when I recently had a drink with some people after visiting the house of prayer in Munich.
That's exactly what we got to talking about. And so a Swiss friend gave me a CHF 50 note (about €52) as a loan.
This prophetic act should express that I will be able to make a living from my art. Then I should give her the money back. The framed picture always reminds me of that! How awesome.
