Sprich mich gerne dazu an. Hier kannst Du dein eigenes Auftragsbild bestellen:

Dear Greetings and God's bless
Johannes Spörl

A surprise at the creative workshop at the Methodist Church

Ermutigungstage: Kreativworkshop

I’m really glad that I was able to lead a creative workshop a while back as part of the Encouragement Days at the EMK Erlöserkirche. I had six young participants who created a wide variety of pieces. It was a lot of fun.

I was invited to dinner with everyone. We had a delicious curry with rice. I hadn't originally planned on attending the worship service that evening.

I was especially delighted that I was asked on the spot to create an impromptu prophetic picture for the guest speaker during these days. I was supposed to create it during the worship evening. Now that’s what I call truly spontaneous! So I stayed, and I received an impression relatively quickly. I was able to present the picture to the speaker and pray for him as well.

The Chosen Cartoon: Follow me, Alan!

I finally drew a cartoon again. Many of you are probably familiar with the TV series about the life of Jesus and his followers, The Chosen. Especially in the U.S., there are quite a few fans who regularly post memes related to the series on their own Facebook page. One of the best-known and best of them is Alan Schneider. He’s been trying in vain for a long time to get Jonathan Roumie, the actor who plays Jesus, to follow him on Instagram. This topic alone is the subject of many memes.

The animated series The Chosen Adventures has been around for a while now, but unfortunately it’s not yet available in German here in Germany. Fortunately, a few episodes have been posted on ►YouTube so far. The Jesus in my cartoon is inspired by Jonathan Roumie’s cartoon version.

How do you like my cartoon?

A Fresh Start in Pictures: A Creative Take on the watchword of the year 2026

In addition to the daily watchwords, Bible verses for each year are selected well in advance. The annual watchword for 2026 is: “Behold, I am making all things new!”

I've created a few different versions. Which one do you like best?

I had the featured image printed as a card. There are only a few copies left. If you're interested, please feel free to contact me.

New Series: Prayer and Worship

I designed the thank-you letter and newsletter for the Munich House of Prayer and went through the photo archive to find suitable photos. While doing so, I came across some beautiful photos of people in prayer and worship.

These have inspired me to create a new series. Here are the first three pieces.

There are also some great time-lapse videos of me painting with watercolors, which I don’t want to keep from you.

A striking testimony about the commissioned painting: Light on the Path

Here, I’d like to share with you the valuable feedback I received on this drawing:

“I don’t even know what to say about this picture. It really captures the situation I’m in right now. It completely overwhelmed me.”

Right now, I’m in a situation where I feel exactly as that pit depicts. And sometimes I haven’t seen that light at all. I’ve also been afraid time and again to make decisions, worried that they might be wrong.

This vision is such a powerful source of encouragement for me and for my journey. The accompanying Bible verses have also encouraged me greatly. And I believe once again that Jesus will show me the way through His Word. Thank you so much, dear Johannes, for this wonderful prophetic drawing.

New Format: Spontaneous Commissioned Drawing

I’m thrilled to introduce a new service to you. This is designed for people who can’t afford or don’t want to commission a standard piece of artwork from me.

I put a lot of time into these paintings; sometimes I pray for the recipients for weeks on end and then really refine the paintings. With my new project, I want to create the paintings more spontaneously—perhaps capturing only what comes to me during a time of worship—and not overwork the artwork as much.

Of course, you’ll still receive a beautiful painting and a specific message from God. So far, I’ve had the privilege of selling it five times, and the buyers were deeply moved.

Booth at the Generation Center's Advent Market

Generationenzentrum: Adventsmarkt

On the first Sunday of Advent in 2025, the Generation Center—an organization affiliated with my church—held its annual Advent market once again. I was delighted to have the opportunity to showcase my art there. Even though I didn’t sell much, I had the chance to explain my work, have several meaningful conversations, and simply make myself known.

Exhibition together with other Creatio artists

In November, I had a few opportunities to showcase my art to the public. Some friends from Creatio, the Christian artists’ network I belong to, took part in an exhibition at an artists’ studio. Another friend has her studio there. I had the chance to display some of my work there as well. I was happy that I was able to have some good conversations and even sell a few pieces. That’s pretty good considering I wasn’t really involved and was basically just allowed to tag along.
