Jesus overcomes division (art print)

The original of this picture was commissioned for a wedding. This is what I wrote to the couple, among other things:

“There are often conflicts in our lives that seem insurmountable or impossible to bridge. People are so different that it can happen that you grow apart and eventually have nothing more to say to each other. No matter how hard you try, there just doesn't seem to be a way to go together anymore. This applies to married couples, to families, children and parents or to relationships in general.

So I saw a landscape through which a deep ditch went, the two sides were insurmountable. The division was so big that you just couldn't get across. But then I saw a bridge spanning the two parts.

And I think that's what Jesus wants to tell you. It doesn't matter how big the division is, how far away you are from each other, how humanly impossible it is to get back together: In Jesus every division or division can be overcome. He is there to help you with this.

Throw yourself on him when you just can't go on. Ask him for help when tensions build. He would love to help you with that!
