Mural - Comic Characters

I painted this mural in 1994 within a week. It was on the wall of the common room on the 2nd floor of the John- Mott- House student residence of the CVJM Munich in Schwabing, at Theo-Prosel-Weg 16 (T16). I sketched it out with a pencil, partly colored the final drawing with Edding, colored it with watercolors and fixed it with a clear lacquer spray.

Always the afternoon hours around 4 o'clock. At that time I lived on the 2nd floor of the John Mott Haus, the student residence of the CVJM Munich. The roommates said that the wall was a bit bare and that I should change that. And so I got to work...

I love to paint pictures where you can immediately see what it's about. But then you can dive into the picture to find details. That you can wander around in the picture and also leave it in your imagination. See Mary Poppins... The picture is of course the living room on the 2nd floor. There was usually a long bamboo stick on the table because the TV remote control was broken.
